Photo of the man who stabbed his wife to death over N2k feeding allowance in Kogi
30 year old Abdullahi Garba, pictured above, stabbed his wife, Falilat
Saka Garba, to death following a disagreement over feeding allowance.
The deceased had asked for N4000 feeding allowance but the suspect said
he offered her only N2000 which was the only money he had. He instructed
her to return N500 to him but she then picked up a quarrel with him. In
the process, she slapped him and in retaliation, he picked up a knife
and stabbed her in the stomach. He is in police custody in Kogi.

BREAKING: Hamburger: Ambode bans transport unionism in Oshodi, tightens security
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has suspended transport unionism in Oshodi, in Lagos.
This followed violence that erupted after the killing of a popular union leader, Rasaq Bello, aka Hamburger.
Hamburger was the Chairman of Motorcycle Operators’ Association of Lagos State, Oshodi chapter.
The suspension order was disclosed at a press briefing on Monday by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, Anofiu Elegushi.
He said the ban will affect all the seven branches of the National Union of Road Transport Workers operating in Oshodi area.
The commissioner said while the order lasts, there will be no issuance of tickets or collection of money from commercial vehicles operating in the area.
He said the governor also ordered increased security cover for the area.
On Sunday, the Nigeria Police announced that the arrest of factional leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN). A statement by Public Affairs Officer of Lagos State Task Force, Adebayo Taofeek, quoted Chairman, Superintendent of Police Olayinka Egbeyemi, as assuring Lagosians of safety of lives and property
Lagos suspends union activities in Oshodi
Lagos State government on Monday announced the indefinite suspension
of all union activities in seven branches of the National Union of Road
Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi area of the state.
The government took the decision after crisis broke out in Oshodi following the murder of a prominent member of NURTW in the area, Alhaji Rasaq Balogun, also known as Hamburger.
The state Acting Commissioner of Transportation, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, who gave the directive at a press briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, Ikeja, said there would be no collection of tickets/fees from commercial buses while the suspension lasts.
He said the state government officials and security personnel have asked to monitor transport operations within the seven branches to ensure compliance with the directive.
The commissioner said the suspension would remain in force until peace returns to the area.
